| Mo Bags and Team 5R headed to Ark-La-Tex Speedway in Vivian, LA on Sunday for a $1000 to win show, and to prepare for the Doug Murphrey Memorial on June 4-5. Morgan started on the second row outside of heat 2 and was forced to the middle groove early on. The track was bad fast on the cushion and Morgan could not make his way up to the groove due to traffic. He went on to finish 5th, one spot shy of qualifying for the A Main. After a 3rd place finish in the B Main, Morgan and team decided to try a few new ideas in an effort to make his way to the front of the A, as well as get valuable track time in preparation for the upcoming $5K to win special next weekend. Morgan started 18th and bided his time to garnish a 12th place finish. The top groove remained fast and took rubber at the halfway mark, making much passing in the feature rather difficult.
The team took advantage of the track conditions to try some new ideas, as well as establish a plan for the upcoming weekend. Practice on June 4th and time trials will tell the tale if Mo Bags and Team 5R will be a contender on Saturday night. The 2010 season is off to a great start for Mo Bags, and a checkered flag in the Doug Murphrey Memorial would be a huge accomplishment. Make your way out to Ark-La-Tex Speedway this weekend for some great modified action at Gene Boyter's speed plant in Vivian, LA. Team 5R will be there ready to wage a battle against some of the toughest competitors the Ark-La-Tex region has to offer. |
