Bagley competes in Sooner State Showdown
Three nights of racing in Oklahoma were on the docket for Morgan Bagley and Team 14 from Thursday through Saturday. Competing in strong fields at Arrowhead Speedway in Colcord, Oklahoma, Bagley qualified for all three main events.
On Thursday, 39 Super Late Models descended on the pristine 1/3-mile track for a COMP Cams Super Dirt Series (CCSDS) show. Bagley drove the P&W Sales No. 14M Super Late Model to sixth in his heat race and third in his B-Main. He started 21st in the 40-lap, $10,000-to-win feature and picked off seven cars to finish 14th.
For Friday and Saturday, each program was co-sanctioned by the COMP Cams Super Dirt Series and World of Outlaws Real American Beer Late Model Series. Friday’s $12,000-to-win event attracted 40 cars, and 41 were on the property for Saturday’s $20,000-to-win finale.
Bagley raced from eighth to fifth in his heat on Friday, then nabbed the third and final transfer spot in his Last Chance Showdown. He started 22nd and finished 23rd in the 40-lap A-Main.
Saturday saw Bagley take sixth in his heat and again transfer through his last-chance race with a runner-up result. He started the 50-lap feature from the 20th position and came home 25th.
Bagley still sits in the second spot in the CCSDS point standings, but cut into leader Billy Moyer Sr.’s advantage at Arrowhead.
